Villa Fanny is a tribute to a woman of times gone by, the matriarch of a prominent Sardinian family, an inspiration for future generations.

Fanny was a girl whose behaviour was discerningly restrained, she had a kind face and was proud of her origins. She came from a prominent Sardinian family who taught her the importance of hospitality and a good education. She went to Paris for some years, where she frequented the cultural salons and enchanted the other guests with her charming demeanour. Fanny loved the company of her Uncle Lao, who was no ordinary uncle. Born in Samassi in 1883, Stanislao Silesu was one of the most well-known and popular composers of chamber and symphonic music of his day. He was dubbed the King of Melody by Edward VIII of England.
